パネルディスカッションの司会のことをモデレータと呼ぶことがある

だけど、モデレートするんじゃなくて化学反応を促進することが必要なケースも多いよね

ファシリテータが必要なんじゃない？

という話をしてたら、コーディネータという言葉もあるよねという話になった。

OALD

moderate: that is neither very good, large, hot, etc. nor very bad, small, cold, etc.

moderator: a person whose job is to help the two sides in a disagreement to reach an agreement

モデレートするのは極端な意見を中庸にする行為。中庸は平凡であることもある。

facilitate: to make an action or a process possible or easier

facilitator: a person who helps somebody do something more easily by discussing problems, giving advice, etc. rather than telling them what to do

ファシリテートするのは、行動を促す行為。

coordinate: to organize the different parts of an activity and the people involved in it so that it works well

coordinator: a person who organizes the different parts of an activity and the people involved in it so that it works well

コーディネートするのは、バラバラのものを組織化し、うまく動くようにする行為。
